“Durability made simple.”
Spend enough time around Layne Rigney, head of softgoods at Yeti, and you’ll hear this a lot.
You might also pick up a piece of intel, as I did on one recent occasion: the brand’s best product might just be one of its simplest.
But don’t just ask Rigney. According to him, most of Yeti’s staff agrees.
“We did an employee meeting and we all shared what our favorite Yeti product was,” said Rigney, who served as the CEO of Osprey Packs before joining Yeti in early 2024.
As it turns out, the clear winner wasn’t a cooler or a bottle or even the brand’s exceptional cast-iron cookware.
It’s the Camino Carryall Tote Bag, which among Yeti’s growing collection of backpacks and duffel bags risks coming across as rather … basic.
