Ranking ski areas is fun and all, but the best part of our annual Resort Guide coverage is reading the insightful, honest, and oftentimes downright hilarious comments left by you—our loyal survey-takers. With the survey remaining open for just a short time, we thought it would be fun to highlight some of the great commentary we’ve gathered so far in the 2026 Reader Resort Survey. Can you recognize the ski areas in the comments below? We’ll update this space with the answers in a few days.

They Said What?!? Guess the Resorts in these Reader Comments.

1. “Locals ski really fast, but safely. No out of control teenagers who don’t give a shit.”

2. “Especially good to tack on to the end of a business trip in Denver. It’s a short trip up the hill on I-70 and not that far from the airport compared to Summit County resorts and Vail.”

3. “Amazing value. By far the best skiing for your money. Also, it’s very scenic, and you can’t beat the volcano views.”

4. “Excellent terrain and typically great snow. Easy lift access. Easy to fly in, but lots of car traffic on powder days. Parking is challenging.”

5. “Despite the lack of vertical, mountain ops is excellent at making the best of what they have available. The constant upgrades to snowmaking and high-speed lifts has made the skiing great even if Mother Nature doesn’t always help.”

6. “Love the laidback vibes. Acres upon skiable acres. A lot for everyone. I don’t love the change to making some runs and lifts private. But it’s great for families. That said, ff you like über steep drops, then there’s not a lot here for you.”

7. “Endless terrain, gorgeous scenery, and you can’t the exchange rate. You never get bored skiing here and there’s quite literally something (a lot actually) for everyone regardless of their ability level. They’re also investing a lot back into the mountain.”

8. “The parking is phenomenal! The upgrades and attention to detail is exquisite!”

9. “I love their business model of ‘first to open, last to close.’ They are not afraid to make snow later in the season, unlike most other Northeast resorts.”

10. “It has enough terrain to satisfy my desire for everything from gentle cruisers to a championship downhill course. Crowds are minimal. Food is great! The employees treat you like royalty. Everyone I see has a smile on their face.”
