Beyond elegant accommodations, the eight-story Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Charleston will add four new restaurants and bars to the city’s much-lauded culinary scene, plus an outdoor pool with private cabanas and 7,000 square feet of event spaces. “Charleston is a city that naturally embodies the spirit of hospitality, making it an ideal location for Four Seasons’ next chapter,” Josh Taube, the chief executive officer of Strategic Property Partners, the Tampa-based developer behind the project, told Travel + Leisure. “With its iconic historic district showcasing centuries of meticulously preserved architecture, alongside a vibrant culture and timeless character, Charleston perfectly aligns with the lifestyle and experience that Four Seasons delivers for guests and residents.”

Bringing the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Charleston to life is New York City-based Morris Adjmi Architects, which will envision the architecture and interiors of the residences. The firm’s design approach “was shaped by a deep understanding of Charleston’s rich architectural traditions and the intimate scale of its historic neighborhoods,” according to its website, and will include deep-set windows, shaded arcades, and other complementary elements that mesh both the contemporary and classic timelessness inherent to the historic city. Lark Design Studios is behind the hotel interiors, with landscape architecture by Hollander Design, known for projects such as the Reach at the Kennedy Center.

Residents will have access to the full Four Seasons lifestyle experience, from housekeeping and concierge services to in-residence dining.

Located on Meeting Street in the heart of Charleston’s historic district, the hotel sits within walking distance of some of the city’s most treasured attractions, including the Charleston City Market, the Gibbes Museum of Art, and the renowned restaurants and boutiques along King Street.
