The Disney Cruise Line is known for its family-friendly activities – from the live Broadway-style shows to the character meet and greets. But did you know there are also many fantastic activities for adults on board? One of these is the Senses Spa, which is offered on every one of the Disney Cruise Line ships.
Within the Senses Spa is the Rainforest Room, a separate spa area that requires a direct purchase. The Rainforest Room is the perfect spot to relax on your vacation, and you can purchase a length of cruise or a daily pass to visit. Here’s what you need to know about the Rainforest Room on the Disney Cruise Line.
Disclosure: I’ve been on complimentary and discounted Disney Cruises (and many at my own cost), but have paid for my Rainforest Room visits. All opinions are my own.
Guide to the Rainforest Room on the Disney Cruise Line
Overview of the Senses Spa
The Senses Spa is the onboard Disney Cruise Line spa. It’s available on all Disney Cruise Line ships and is a full-service spa offering facials, massages, body treatments, and more.
Typically, the spa will have open house hours on embarkation day on the Disney Cruise Line. The schedule can be found on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. If you visit during the open house, you can tour the spa and inquire about any specials. There is often a raffle giveaway you can enter as well.
In addition to the treatment rooms, you’ll get a tour of the Rainforest Room. This tranquil spa area isn’t included in a treatment – you must book it separately. The Rainforest Room is similar to a Turkish or thermal spa, offering a variety of hot and cold experiences to help you relax and rejuvenate.

How to Book the Rainforest Room
Interested in visiting the Rainforest Room? You’ll need to purchase admission. Availability is limited, and it can sell out (although I’ve personally never experienced that). Purchase as soon as you get on board if you are worried about it selling out.
If you are interested, go to the spa and ask to make a purchase at the front desk. You can either buy a length of cruise pass or a single-day pass. You’ll also be offered the body scrub add-on. If you don’t want the scrubs, make sure you are purchasing the option that doesn’t include them, to save money.

Who Can Visit the Rainforest Room?
Wondering who can visit the Rainforest Room? It’s co-ed and 18-plus, so no children are allowed. Each person visiting needs to purchase their own admission. Admission isn’t complimentary with a spa treatment, so you must buy the pass separately.
What is in the Rainforest Room?
The Rainforest rooms vary by ship. The smaller ships generally have smaller rainforest rooms, while the larger vessels have bigger areas. The Disney Wish and the Disney Treasure also have an outdoor area accessible only to guests visiting the Rainforest Room.
If you are looking for specific things, it’s best to request a tour of the Rainforest Room to see what is included. Expect to find locker rooms (shared with the spa), saunas, steam rooms, lighted showers with different temperatures, heated lounge chairs, etc. The Disney Wish has a cold snow room, perfect for a hot day.
The Rainforest Room can get busy, especially during port days. We found that the Rainforest Room on the Disney Wish was especially busy, but that may be because the weather on that cruise wasn’t great. So guests were looking for something else to do with their time, besides sunbathing and enjoying the pool deck.
Everything, except for the locker rooms, are co-ed in the Rainforest Room.

Visiting the Rainforest Room
After purchasing the pass, you can arrive at the spa’s front desk and tell them you are there for the Rainforest Room. You’ll exchange your Key to the World card for a Rainforest Room admission bracelet. You’ll also be given a locker, slides, and a robe.
When packing for the Rainforest Room, you’ll want to bring a bathing suit, a change of clothes, and maybe a book. There are towels right there for your use. I usually go wearing my bathing suit and then change out of it when I’m done.
Who is the Rainforest Room Best For?
The Rainforest Room is great for anyone looking to relax on their cruise. You can spend as much time as you want while your pass is valid. Because kids aren’t allowed, it’s best for those who are traveling without kids, or who have kids who will want to be occupied in the kids’ clubs while you are enjoying the spa.

Is the Rainforest Room Worth it?
I find that the Rainforest Room is a fun splurge on my cruises, and I visit on most sailings. I typically purchase a length-of-stay pass.
However, I think you’ll have to think about how much you’ll use it, before making the purchase. A Disney Cruise is already expensive, and there are many things to enjoy at no additional cost.
Tips
- I have found that evenings are less busy in the Rainforest Room, especially during dinner and the shows.
- Bring a book to enjoy if you want to sit on the heated lounge chairs and read.
- Inquire about the rate excluding the scrubs, if you don’t want to add those on
